2017 KIA Optmia for Sale Topeka Kansas

Since its introduction in 2000, the KIA Optima has steadily set itself apart from most midsize sedans as a car that emphasizes fun driving and attractive styling. Its fourth generation of production is its most refined cycle yet, with the 2017 model year representing its second entry. There are five trims available: LX, LX 1.6T, EX, SX, and SX Limited.

The 2017 KIA Optmia-as a midsize, four-door sedan-supplies 104.8 cubic feet of passenger volume. The trunk provides 15.9 cubic feet of cargo space, although you can create more luggage room by folding down the rear seatback. Front seating consists of an 8-way adjustable driver's seat with 2-way lumbar support and a 6-way adjustable passenger seat. Upgrade to the EX trim to get heating capability on the steering wheel, leather seat trim, front-seat heating capability, and 8-way power adjustability with 4-way power lumbar support and memory system on the driver's seat. If you go with the SX Limited, the front seats get additional cooling capability, the driver's seat is enhanced with 12-way power adjustability and 4-way power lumbar support, and the passenger seat receives 10-way power adjustability with 2-way power lumbar support. Base-level comfort and convenience features include cruise control, a rearview camera, Bluetooth connectivity, steering wheel-mounted controls, and a six-speaker audio system that comes with a complimentary SiriusXM satellite radio subscription and a 5-inch touchscreen display. Going up a level-to the LX 1.6T-adds dual-zone automatic control. The EX introduces Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to control infotainment functions with your mobile device, and a 7-inch touchscreen replaces the 5-inch. On the SX and SX Limited, you'll also get an auto-dimming rearview mirror, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, and a 4.3-inch color LCD screen (to replace the 3.5-liter LCD meter display. On the SX Limited, the infotainment system is completely overhauled; the top-level trim gets a hefty 10-speaker 630-watt Harman Kardon surround sound system, as well as a surround view camera with a sensor-based rear park assist system.

Regarding exterior features, the 2017 KIA Optima starts off with low projector-beam headlights, which come with automatic control; and a pair of side mirrors with power adjustability and turn-signal indicators. On the LX 1.6T, you'd also get heating and power folding ability on the mirrors, as well as a hands-free smart trunk. With the EX trim, the Optima gets LED daytime running accents and high beams added on the headlights, as well as LED combination lamps enhancing the rear. A dual exhaust system, halogen bulbs swapped with longer-lasting LED ones, a rear spoiler and sports-style bumpers, and dynamic bending light technology with auto leveling ability appear on the SX and SX Limited-with the latter also getting a high beam assist system and a panoramic sunroof.

The 2017 KIA Optmia has its engine and driven wheels placed at the front, thus producing a front-engine front-wheel-drive layout. Turbulence on less-than-smooth roads is kept to a minimum with a MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension, which are accompanied by a stabilizer bar and high-performance dampers. If you go with the SX or SX Limited, the suspension is tuned for a tighter, more sports-oriented driving feel. Motor-driven power steering is standard on the Optima for energy-saving handling ability. On the SX and SX Limited, the electric motor is installed on the steering rack rather than the steering column to boost handling.

The 2017 KIA Optima provides three engines. The standard one is the Theta GDI, which is a 2.4-liter inline 4-cylinder (I4) 185 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. The LX 1.6T gets its suffix from its Gamma G4FJ engine, which is a turbocharged 1.6-liter I4 that generates 176 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. Not only is the LX 1.6T the only trim with this particular engine, but it is also the only one that has its engine tied to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. (The others get a 6-speed automatic instead.) The SX and SX Limited get the Theta II, a turbocharged 2.0-liter I4 that produces 245 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Both engines come with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Optima's drivetrain includes a drive mode select controller to adjust driving feel and an Active ECO system for boosting fuel efficiency.

The 2017 KIA Optmia comes with a pair of front impact airbags, dual side impact airbags installed on the front seats, and twin side curtain airbags mounted on the roof. Other standard safety features include electronic stability control, hill start assist, traction control, and four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes. The SX Limited is the only model with the available advanced safety features, which are forward collision warning, smart cruise control, lane departure warning, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, and autonomous emergency braking.
